The Sri Lanka conflict increased in intensity after September 1994. The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam Not only successfully countered the attacks of Sri Lnakan Army but also carried out several Major terrorist acts against the Government officials. The assassinated opposition Presidential candidate Gamini Dissanayake on October 24,1994. After the government held dialogue with LTTE which lasted for six months. But unfortunately talks was failed to get the desired results and were followed by many acts of retaliation by guerillas. In the month of April 1995 these bombed two navy boats and downed an air force plan in Jaffna. Six Months later on October 20, 1995 LTTE destroyed Sri Lanka main fuel depot in Colombo.In relation the government forces launched an attack on guerilla strong hold. Consequently Sri Lankan Army Captured Jaffan on December 2, 1995.
